Mike Lee Breaks Silence on White House Text Messages, Denies Backing Trump’s Effort to Overturn Election
I'm going to snip out his denials of being involved that no one will believe and skip to the end of the article:
Weeks after recommending Powell’s services to the Trump campaign, Lee suggested that the president disassociate himself from her because she couldn’t provide evidence to back up her sweeping election fraud claims.
Lee said he was aware of lawyer John Eastman’s theory that then-vice president Mike Pence could reject the election results if some states submitted different lists of electors. Lee added that he received a memo from Eastman on January 2 that claimed seven states were planning to send different slates of electors to Congress.
“That’s when I became alarmed,”Lee said. “Honestly, by Jan. 2, I started to think this had blown over and maybe they were not going to try this stunt that I think could be dangerous.”

It's not your fault. But I've been calling state legislators for hours today, and am going to spend hours doing the same tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out a path that I can persuasively defend, and this won't make it any easier, especially if others now think I'm doing this because he went after me. This just makes it a lot more complicated. And it was complicated already. We need something from state legislatures to make this legitimate and to have any hope of winning. Even if they can't convene, it might be enough if a majority of them are willing to sign a statement indicating how they would vote.

So... Even more so than before, this looks like Mike knew full well beforehand of the assault on the Capitol as well as the attempt to delay the electoral vote. His lie that he did not believe they were going to try Eastman's 'stunt' is also laid bare... In fact, he admits in the texts that he was going to be trying to get state legislators on board.
As a side note... These texts are missing a lot. We see a lot from both Lee and Roy to Meadows but... A ton of Meadows replies are missing. I do not see anything on CNN saying if they held them back or if they never received them. Pure speculation here but... I suspect they were not given to CNN and are being used as leverage against Meadows... Meadows has been so quiet about anything for such a long time it's deafening. I suspect it will be very interesting when he does start to speak.
