An event we see once a decade or so.

Bush 41 called our city "Little Beirut" after the welcome he once received.

Happy he's here. Hope his local hosts take a little bit of his attention to talk about mental health, addiction, and homelessness. Had he looked out the starboard window on approach, he would have seen a large and growing favela on the south shore of the Columbia River.

His main message is about infrastructure...Something equally important, living with the threat of the Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake that will break more than the heirloom china.

Both situations are existential threats.

2. I posted on a local news page

A short comment to a story about President Biden coming to town. Said I thought he was doing a great job, and ticked off three areas of vast improvement over his predecessor: Jobs, relations with our allies, and controlling Covid. Boy, that's not all I ticked off! The flying monkey brigades had to go into overdrive responding to my comment, not because what I said wasn't true but because they're actively rooting for the United States to fail and vindicate the failed administration of their hero.
