Depending on what the OP poll says CNN did say a majority of Independents oppose it so I hope the OP is correct.

(3,433 posts)Rhode island is extremely blue and no one is wearing a mask. I am often one of maybe 2 or 3 people wearing masks whenever I go out.

(2,833 posts)The poll is not about mask mandates in general. It's about the public transportation mandate that just got struck down by Clarence Thomas Jr in Florida.

(22,037 posts)First, fly only when absolutely necessary. I gave up on the airlines a long time ago. When I was younger, flying was fun and a little sexy. Today, it's worse than a crosstown bus. Both the airlines and their passengers mostly suck.
Second, on those occasions when I have to fly, I double mask and keep to myself. I'm normally an outgoing person but these days I try to stay in my little bubble. Not much more that I could do.

(153,169 posts)I remember when flight attendants were treated like sex objects instead of actual workers.

(22,037 posts)But you're correct about the treatment of stewardesses, as they were called back then. I believe flight attendants today have better working conditions but tougher jobs.
What I meant was that it was a bit seductive for the passengers.

(5,935 posts)The latest Axios Covid poll that (4/12) I could find doesn't ask that question. Poll responses seem to show that "policy preferences around mask and vaccine requirements are loosening, matching actual behavior."

One exception to this rule is the publics view of requirements for healthcare workers. Two-thirds (65%) support requiring all people in a healthcare setting to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This number has not changed over the past few months, possibly indicating the public holds healthcare workers to a different standard than they do the broader population.

(17,066 posts)The medical expert, Elizabeth Drew (I think was discussing it). They had a screen size graphic up about it and I focused on the numbers because they were a little shocking to me.
