CNN+ was an ill conceived and stupid idea.

I really love Sarah Sidner who had a morning program on CNN+, so for $2.99 I thought I would check the service out.

Sidner ran a pretty interesting program. It was all downhill from there. There literally, imo, was nothing else worth watching.

Technically, it was a disaster. There were literally gaps of dead air. It was actually amateurish. It reminded me of a really small town or college tv station.

I cancelled after 10 days. The whole thing was a dumb way to spend 100’s of millions of dollars.

It is hard to believe that such a boondoggle ever got a green light.

These are some seriously insulated people.

I was reading a story today about how horrified CNN employees were that junior staffers were being laid off with "only" six months of severance.

If they're that out of touch with what life is like for average people, it kind of explains the entire company.

and CNN+ kind of sounded like a platform for hosts to showcase things they wanted to talk about. It's really too bad.

You have Discovery+, Paramount+, HBO+ and I'm sure many others that I just don't remember of know about. It's just another way to try to bleed money out of cable imho.

It's laughable how they were touting it as a success right up until they pulled the plug.

They should have started small using CNN+ as a free service and dumping ground for their past specials.

For the most part, I think people tune in to CNN for the news. They are less interested in who the host or presenter is.

CNN+ was hyped based on the personalities of their talent.

I'll admit the idea of seeing Kate Bolduan in casual clothes has its fascinations, but I'm not going to pay for it. Actually, I wouldn't even go out of my way for it.

to fork out more money for yet another streaming service especially when you can get news and commentary all over the place for free.

It should have been free with ads if they had to. CNN knows how to do ads.
