With 4/20 in the rearview mirror for the cannabis industry, some companies are still looking for reasons to celebrate as the fight to legalize marijuana continues.
The Biden administration has been mostly silent on the topic of federal marijuana legalization, offering neither support nor opposition to the bill which passed the House of Representatives earlier this month.
The Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, if signed into law, would remove marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act and abolish the associated criminal penalties. The bill passed the House primarily by party lines and, receiving no support from the president, has yet to be introduced to the Senate.

(9,073 posts)Sorry... but there is a mountain of shit we are digging out of and that doesn't even include the big items that have been accomplished.
Not everything is going to be done in 16 months. I want this to pass too but not everything is going to make it in the time-frame people wish it to be made in.

Calculating
(2,955 posts)Literally like 3/4 if the country wants it, and Biden doesn't say a word of support on the issue. All the other democratic candidates seemed quite vocal about it. What votes would he lose by being more supportive of this? The only seriously anti-weed people left are the hardcore religious types and people who benefit from it being illegal.

(8,924 posts)This is not the time for him to be silent about it.

(2,955 posts)Who is he afraid of pissing off by supporting it? The social conservative crowd?
GoodRaisin
(8,924 posts)who could be pissed off over it. We have a tough election coming. I think its a bigger issue than some are treating it. The young voters, those impacted by marijuana incarceration, people waiting for police records to be expunged, a whole lot of people living with chronic pain with few options other than opioids and have hope in cannabis treatment. All with hope based on what Joe said his support would be. So Im hoping he starts talking about it soon.
