Ukraine has more tanks on the ground than Russia - Pentagon

Ukrainian forces have more tanks on the ground than their Russian counterparts, according to a senior U.S. defense official.
“Right now, the Ukrainians have more tanks in Ukraine than the Russians do … and they certainly have the purview to use them,” the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity under terms set by the Pentagon.

The comparative count of tanks is not in itself a determinant of which side has the upper hand, as Russia reorients its invasion to focus chiefly on Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region and along the southern coast, where the port city of Mariupol continues to be surrounded, bombarded and, in large part, occupied.e surrounded, bombarded and, in large part, occupied.

But Ukraine’s edge in tanks — armored vehicles that are a powerful instrument in ground combat — is a notable data point as allies rally resources to help the Ukrainian armed forces beat back a Russian invasion that initially threatened to outgun them. On Thursday, the Biden administration announced an additional $800 million in military assistance to Ukraine, including 144,000 more 155 mm howitzer artillery rounds and a new brand of drone specifically designed to meet Ukraine’s battlefield needs.

that Ukraine does what Russia did to them. I'd love for Ukraine to get the upper hand and draw their own "red line" and tell Putin that they demand all of their territories back, including Chechnya, or they will invade Russia. I'd especially love to see them pull a Putin and demand Russia give a few hundred miles of their Russian territory to Ukraine or Ukraine would wipe them off the face of the Earth. That would be Karma.

County of Ukraine and damages to everyone the affected by this ‘Special Operation”. Russia penniless on the street corner selling pencils in a digital world would be fine with me.

not Chechnya. Although it would be awesome if the Ukrainians went into Russian territory and eliminated that murderous thug who runs Chechnya, Kadyrov... the long-suffering Chechen people would build statues to Zelensky!
