Weeks ago I ordered some Ukrainian scarves on Ebay. I haven't gotten them yet, but I did get this email, which I found interesting.

Hello!
Thanks for your purchase and support. Please excuse the delay. For a long time I could not work. At first, our mail did not work. When mail started working, another problem arose. There were many items in my store. It was far from my house. Because of the war, all roads were closed and I could not get there.
Now, finally, the situation in Kyiv has improved. I can already ship orders on time. I can send your order in the next few days. But I don't know what color scarf you want. Please let me know the color you need. I will ship your order quickly.
Peace and health to you and your family.
Thanks for the help.
Natalia
I can't even imagine trying to carry on with a business while the world is falling down around you. The Ukrainian people are so amazing. Interesting that she said that the situation in Kyiv has improved. A small bright light.
J just wanted to share this.

(86,646 posts)It is good to know they are able to go to their shop and resume some business.
Could you pm me a link to their site, I might want to place an order. I have some scarves, the Ukraine floral type that my dear friend gave me years ago. She was not from Ukraine, she was a Croat, but admired their culture and had many articles from all over Eastern Europe. She would always greet me with some kind of gift, every day, for decades. Sometimes, the gifts were a scarf wrapped around another item instead of wrapping paper. I would like to support this vendor and I would like a new scarf or two.
Thanks, 2na.

Apparently she sold out of the items for $8.99, and these are more expensive, which is understandable.

(32,645 posts)It was mostly 2nd hand clothing, but also some books and music. I found the German Ebay sellers to be remarkably honest, reliable and polite. The reason I'm no longer buying on Ebay has nothing to do with the German sellers, I just really dislike the company. Also they changed their policy about 10 years ago - buyers are REQUIRED to use Paypal because they stopped accepting cash, checks and money orders. That was when I quit Ebay.
I believe the Ukrainian sellers on Ebay are just as polite, reliable and honest as the German buyers were (and they probably still are.)
