So now Putin's might be losing another puppy dog regime in the region. Quote honestly, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner.

Airspace is not closed to commercial flights, a good thing since Turkey is one of the main destinations for young Russians fleeing Putin and his insanity.

Gives Turkey more influence in Syria conflict, to advance their own interests there and reduce Russian influence to some degree.

..and fully reading the link, I tend to agree. I can't see where Putin needs Turkish airspace to feed his efforts in Ukraine.
