Trump Org grand jury term expires this week - not extended :(
https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/27/politics/trump-organization-investigation-grand-jury/index.html
CNN — A special grand jury seated to hear evidence in the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into the Trump Organization’s finances is set to expire at the end of the week and will not be extended, people familiar with the investigation tell CNN. The six-month special grand jury, which was empaneled in October, heard evidence late last year from several witnesses, including reporters to whom former President Donald Trump boasted about his personal wealth. Presentations to the grand jury were halted earlier this year after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was sworn into office and raised concerns about the strength of the evidence. The decision to not extend the jury’s term is not surprising because prosecutors already had pulled back from presenting evidence, but the development does indicate that over the past few months, the investigation has not escalated to the point that Bragg’s calculus has changed. Bragg, who has stressed that the investigation is continuing following the abrupt and public departure of two senior prosecutors, said earlier this month there is no “magic” to the special grand jury’s timetable and that his office could present More at link

Vance/Bragg’s investigation will end without an indictment, but that has no bearing on the outcome of investigations by James, Willis and the DOJ.

12. These calls for patience
were just for us to shut the fuck up and let the criminality slide.
How the hell else are we supposed to view it? They found everything they needed to find and it turned out to be nothing? In his resignation letter, Pomerantz said he believed the office had "evidence sufficient to establish Mr. Trump's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. ... I also do not believe that suspending the investigation pending future developments will lead to a stronger case or dispel your reluctance to bring charges."
Pomerantz added: "I and others believe that your decision not to authorize prosecution now will doom any future prospects that Mr. Trump will be prosecuted for the criminal conduct we have been investigating." Move along... nothing to see here. |

not to seek further indictments on anyone else at trump org... Even tho they were mentioned in the Weisselburg indictments because it didn't seem "big" enough.
I've been kind of following this case. It was once described as huge. As a flagrant fraud. And the latest description it turned into not a big deal and Weisselburg will probably not see the inside of a prison Hope I spelled his name right.. don't feel like looking it up ![]() |

37. I wish I could find the link
The fear of having another grand jury could mean a recall on some of the people who had already been called and gave a testimony under oath. To redo the same testimony or answer questions about their testimony could create perjury for some people. Not because they are intentionally lying but because memories change as time goes on.

42. So basically if no indictments are recommended then the
prosecutors give up when a GJ is disbanded.
I think I need to understand better exactly what is off the table at this point. This particular grand jury did hand down an indictment for Weisselburg only. No accomplices and no FG. |

19. The Democrats Can Kiss The Midterms Goodbye
There is going to be a complete lack of enthusiasm by enough Democratic voters, that they'll stay home in November.
They'll say, "why bother?" They voted for ACCOUNTABILITY in 2020, and received NONE. Sure, those of us on DU will do our part, but we can't do it alone. The lack of enthusiasm will decrease turnout significantly enough that we'll lose the House, and if it's bad enough, the Senate. It's coming. Mark my words. |

in my mind. The farther you get from an actual crime, the less people take it seriously. Pouncing immediately adds credibility to the severity.

It's technology. Over the last 25 years, technology has allowed us to access almost ALL the information that exists. There's literally not even enough time in one day to keep up with major events. And lost too is a source of information that everyone trusts. And every news source is trying to get our attention. And how do they get your attention? By making something extraordinarily provocative.
I don't see any of this changing do you? Strikes me as we just have to find our own path. |
