Yes, we have to get the vote out. But so many in this country are totally appalled about this decision, that the vote
may come out on its own. If we present our side fairly and accurately, the other side doesn't have a chance. The
answer is getting out the vote. It is so simple: "Taking away a woman's rights to abortion by someone who rapes
her, and she doesn't want the baby caused by that rape...."IS TOTALLY WRONG."
.......Everyone knows that. November's election could be total victory for those who want to protect woman's rights.

The GOP, kleptocrats, and enemies of democracy have a lot to lose.

(38,421 posts)the rest of the issues. If this leaked Alioto Crap is indeed the law. The justices can still change their minds,
if they decide. It ain't final law till it is published by the Supreme Court.

(972 posts)I think you may be whistling past the graveyard. I do think the Roe v Wade could blunt some of the gains but this is going to be a referendum on the economy. It almost always is. If inflation and gas prices are still high come fall it's going to take a herculean effort to overcome.

(6,278 posts)To do that the public must be weaned from the hate media on radios and tv. And the non indoctrinated need to get out and vote. Really vote!
The stranglehold on us by the heavy hand of the Senate with all their votes from these tiny ( in population) western states was brought to us by that that media- which created the MAGA republicans. Which has been carefully cultivated by that media for 35+ years.
This ignoring of the power of their very inexpensive approach is what got us here. We cannot ignore it any longer. Nor cannot be polite in response.
This is now war. Idiots insulting real parents by getting away night and day on all media with calling an embryo a baby? What the hell? Words matter! Why dont the reporters laugh at them or better yet call them on it? Why is their willful misuse of words given a pass?
Why is the production of a child by its mother considered nothing by these people?
And where the hell is the medical community? Never speaking up about how their own profession does not allow for elective abortion after the second trimester?
So, yes we must fight, and absolutely get out the vote. But we in every one of our professions and as individuals must stop giving passes to these people. No more being polite to or about whiney beasts like that brain bound (analogous to foot bound ) Amy Coney Barrett.

(68,556 posts)a woman's right to choose...and that we now know would include contraception. I mean such an unimportant issue that affects well nobody...any distraction would likely work. And let's absolutely 'hold Democrats' feet to the fire' over this issue. That always works.

(31,820 posts)I think 1/6 hearings are going to happen - and its going to pull Indies over to the Democrats - more so than Abortion. Lots of Left Wing Libertarians in that bloc.

All of them are bad news for GOPers.

(31,820 posts)We have Student Loan Forgiveness -
And that's not happening this year.
Young men and young women are going to have to make a choice . . . Uterus or Student Loans. We also have to combat almost a decade of politicians to the Left of the Democratic Party telling folks that a 'rising tide lifts all boats' and we just need to focus on 'wages, student loans, and medicare for all'.
The voters who stay stuck on those three and reduce Abortion to a wedge issue or gender issue -
Won't be voting this November.

(7,733 posts)need to be highlighted also. The collateral damage of the Supreme Court taking away rights doesnt sit well with majorities of Americans.
Red states are already signaling radical extremism and unworkable laws being quickly passed basically as revenge and punishment.
