Trumps endorsee Herbster will NOT BE the next Governor of Nebraska! Thank God! He made some ground, but still not be able to get any closer to Pillen the front runner!
I would not be surprised that Democrat nominee Carol Blood give Pillen a run for his money in the general election. She widely popular through out the state among the Democrats and even some GOBers. I am one who will be voting for her come November. Pillen scares me as much as Ricketts did! If Blood should pull off the upset? She would be first Democrat to fill the Governorship since Ben Nelson(1991 to 1999) and the 2nd Female ever in the state of Nebraska. Kay Orr-R(1987 to 1991), where as Ben Nelson defeated her in an upset victory.

(11,308 posts)But that's certainly in a nuanced way. Still a MAGAot through and through. And probably the only win here is that he WASN'T the Trump pick. (that and the fact that Herbster is crazier than a sh*t weasel - and knows virtually nothing about anything at all)
(nice to see that NE is still not all that crazy about pussy grabbers ..)

(20,249 posts)Zat British?
My mom married my step-dad, a Brit from Sheffield. He didn't formally adopt me, but was a most wonderful dad after my biological dad died suddenly and unexpectedly when I was 13. He had mom saying 'tomahto' and not tomato. And other stuff. I loved him so.

I grew up in London btw, I am a US citizen via a Los Angeles birth to non citizen parents, but we left before I turned 2. I am the only US citizen in my nuclear family, although I do have some on my mum's side (She is Bajan, aka Barbadian and UK) who move to the the US from Him (Barbados) and became naturalised American citizens. I also did live in the US for a couple years as an adult, with my now wife (fuck SCROTUS and all Rethugs AGAIN if they invalidate our marriage being recognised in the US via overturning Obergefell), whilst reading for my MBA, also in Los Angeles (Marina del Rey to be more precise, Ted Lieu is my US congressperson).

I am quite fond of British TV programs.
I like how they say, "Sod off!"

mother's child when it comes to cursing, she and her sisters and mum and aunties are SO foul mouthed, it's a Bajan thing, lol. My father (100% Swedish and also a UK citizen) is far less full of argy bargy, even verbally (which is why when he does get angry, it's run away time, lol).
My siblings are a mixed lot, temper wise. I am the baby of the fam and the extreme one in most every way (other than my hetero sister and her giving birth to multiple children, each of the now four by a different bloke, smdh), both to the good and the success-driven side, but I also can be more than a bit naughty and most certainly alpha level combative as well. My wife is also an alpha, people are amazed we get on damn near perfectly, but we have severe, crystal clear boundaries we never break and that works like a charm, helped by mutually being ferociously in love. Our oldest friends, as well as our families call us (my father started it) et lupi, the she-wolves, lol.

(20,249 posts)My step-dad had a sister still who we visited in a nursing facility she was in. We landed at the Tower Hotel, then stayed a few days with one of her sons in London proper. He brought us to visit his brother and family in Harrow-on-the-Hill. The nephew we stayed with took us places. A pub in Derbyshire, Shakespeare's Birthplace, Sheffield, Scotland. Memorable!
Then we went over to France.
We chose well to do this early in our marriage. Worth every penny.
