The estimated $75 million installation of at least 100,000 solar panels will help power the companys Pine Bend refinery in Rosemount.
The 45-megawatt solar installation will connect directly to the refinery operations and is expected to help lower energy costs, improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions, the company said.

(22,124 posts)all of them (the videos), you will see giant wind generators all across the landscape everywhere! And I laugh when our former president (TFG) ranted and raved against them, that they were a danger, etc., all kinds of nonsense.

(19,243 posts)The longer we keep finding ways to crank out cheap oil, the worse we're cooking the planet.
We're already in the early stages of the 6th mass extinction event thanks to carbon emissions.
The only way we'll ever find the will to get off fossil fuels is through making them too expensive to keep burning.
And yes, I know my position isn't popular, especially with gas at $4/gal now. But the economic pain we're currently feeling is nothing compared to what's coming at 2C of warming by 2050.

West Texas has both oil and wind resources.
South Texas just has oil, except for the coast.
