Our local TeeVee news was talking about the rallies/protests over the abortion ban....

... and was using the term "pro-abortion" to describe them.
We have a Sinclair station in Seattle, but this one is a normal one.
I was there, and I saw ZERO "pro-abortion" signs... just pro-choice ones.

When the fuck did "pro-choice" become "pro-abortion"?

It wasn't just one reporter. The anchor said the same thing.

How are we supposed to frame the narrative when the media ignores the real message and makes up their own?

2. We only have 2 "normal" stations: KIRO and KING

and KIRO is suspect - KIRO FM is the home of Dori Monson.

6. Well, that sucks. KING is about the only one I watch any more.

I tend to think that TV Newspeople aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

3. Pro-abortion is now the updated language used within the movement, so I'm happy to hear the news

using it.

5. I think that the implication is that everybody should be all for abortion.

I'm for choice.
There is a difference.

7. The reasoning is that choice means little when access is restricted.

Even in states where abortion is legal or even protected, many people don't have a choice because of circumstances. Abortion is at the center of this issue, it IS the issue -- shying away from the term can add to the stigma.

I think that the implication is that everybody should be all for abortion.
I mean, that's what any "pro" or "anti" phrase implies, doesn't it? Why would someone who describes themselves as pro-choice be against abortion?
