As I learned long ago, Affirmative Action only applies to Government agencies OR those companies/institutions getting money from the government.

how honest the intent was (and it most certainly was), this is the very thing we rail against. Gender bias, etc.
Government has no business mandating things based on gender or anything else where they aren't the hiring company. And even then, the only factor should be qualifications and skill. Their only say in the matter should be dealing with those who do show biases in the hiring process.

We rail ... if straight white dudes appear as favored.

Any other case is really not a problem, typically lauded.

It's cause we're all the devil, though, so I understand
