I have 2 vaccine shots and 2 boosters. The first booster was in September. I got Covid in December...no symptoms but tested positive.
Second booster was in March. I got Covid probably May 13th. I was on a SEPTA train to Philadelphia. There were 10 of us in an empty car. We sat away from each other. Still, I tested positive and with some symptoms this time. I thought I would b ok because I had two boosters. Five of us have tested positive. All of us are double boosted.
So, my suggestions... Resume outdoor dining in restaurants or do takeout. Avoid large indoor gatherings... parties, church, meetings, concerts, remote work if possible and whatever I didn't think of. We need to go back to what our behavior was last year.
Update: Symptoms are down to just a cough. But last night, I again, tested positive.
A new wave is spreading and we can expect new variations to pop up.
Be Careful.
And go back to wearing a mask.

(10,176 posts)per my doctor, and even if you have all your shots you can still get Covid - even if you think you're wearing your mask correctly at all time. The only good thing is that if you're vaxxed and boosted you're likely to have milder and briefer symptoms.
FWIW, it can take over a week to test negative - it was 10 days for me, and a friend's son took 14 days to get his negative test after his first positive one.

(12,412 posts)and most have been shot and boosted.
Heres the thing: I havent. Not as much as a cough, touchy throat, tummy ache, nada. And because Ive had all the shots and boosters, including flu shots, Im pretty relaxed around small groups of people. I mask in crowded grocery stores, but never in a restaurant. Ive flown at least 8 times in past two years. Also Im 75. So
what has kept me from contracting this bug?

(51,649 posts)ALWAYS wear a mask indoors, never eat indoors, don't let anyone into my apt. or car if they are not family and only with a N95 on the whole time.
I'm too afraid of catching it that I don't want to take the chance with natural immunity at this point. I am not a lucky person and I am sure that the first time I let my guard down I'll get it....that's been my luck throughout this lifetime.

(25,724 posts)I did not know I had it until MIL tested positive. We were all exposed. I thought I had allergies.

(1,200 posts)Good thread. My household got it after 2 years 3 months of neurotic behavior instigated by me.
Why. Bc corp offices opened, & not even 3 weeks in me, or my husband got it. Passed it thru the house.
Then i know 4 other people, in other states have it. Also very cautious & all the vaccinations & boosters.
Drs office told me Friday there's a new strain? Not the omicron subvariant, but another. I have no info on this, haven't looked into it.
But gosh, was I upset. Always wear a mask!
