(43,363 posts)He was being pursued. He crashed in a ditch. He fired at responding officers. What did those officers do? Doesn't sound like a very robust response. He was able to exit his vehicle and go to the building.

(2,337 posts)Was he chased by law enforcement or was he not? If not, how were they able to respond to the shooting literally moments after he entered the building?
Yesterday, I heard (don't know where) that he shot his grandma, someone called police, and police began a chase. He crashed his car near the school where he exchanged gunfire with police (I believe two were injured?) and was wearing body armor when he rushed into the school. Is this not factual or in dispute?
It's so difficult hearing about these stories and not being able to get a clear idea of what happened right away. All the news briefings I saw yesterday were "taking no questions" and very vague.

If they were - was there any way to divert him away from a school when they were still on the road in pursuit?
