Texas Governor Abbott returns to the murder scene

President and First Lady Biden visited the site of the horrific murders of children and others in Uvalde, Texas today. While they were there, Governor Abbott, the enabler of the murderer, had the gall to show up. How dare he? How dare Abbott show his face on this hallowed ground. I find it hard to imagine how long it took to scrub the blood off his hands.

Abbott, Texas Republicans, and the entire Republican Party are drowning in the blood of countless children and adults who have been murdered. The reason they died was because Republicans are a wholly owned subsidiary of the NRA, weapons manufacturers, and billionaires who have their own agenda for turning America into a fascist state run by themselves.

But at this moment, it all comes into focus when you see Abbott, showing up with his "thoughts and prayers," in Uvalde, Texas. There just aren't words to cover this outrage. A man who allowed a weapon of war to be put into the hands of an unhinged teenager, knew beyond any doubt what the probable outcome would be, and didn't give a shit. Abbott, and the entire Republican establishment, are the face of evil.

It's past time for all of us to get into the fight for the soul of America.

Is a phrase I've used a few times this week, in conversations with friends and acquaintances. Each time I said it, those to whom I was speaking seemed to remain silent for a moment. One nodded. And another said, "It really is, isn't it?"

I guess all we can do is hope that the vast majority "gets it" and acts.

Those poor murdered kids and teachers. Bet your ass they were praying to the mighty sky ghost to not let that evil fuck kill them. They “Thought” God would protect them as they “pray” like promised. How’d that work. I would like to hear a few verses that all those Godless GQP assholes used in prayer. Their “Thoughts”, “Here they come after our guns again”. Their “Prayer”, “Dear God, don’t let em take my God Given right to own assault rifles”. Small sacrifices for that God Given right, children and innocents. If they thought it would protect their right to worship guns, they would throw babies down a hole in sacrificial gatherings like the Myan’s did to their Gods for favors returned.

14. Think about being a child in imminent danger of death

Do Republicans think that way? Do they ever imagine what it's like to think you may be dead in an instant?

I don't know. All I know is the way they vote against protecting human beings from being shot by ... someone, anyone.

The thought of being a child, who woke up, went to school and, in an instant, wondering if she/he is going to live, is the worst nightmare imaginable.

If that doesn't chill you to the bone, then you're not human.

Sane societies protect their children and all of their citizens from being murdered. We are, for the most part, a sane people who are being governed by a minority of ignorant people who live in fear of ... everything. We are being governed by them because their leaders, (pssst. the Republican Party), know how to whip them into a frenzy and terrify them into pulling the switch that says "REPUBLICAN" when they vote.

What they should really live in fear of is going to church, the supermarket, the bus, the mall, the concert, the pizza parlor, a school, or anyplace else, and then leaving without being shot.
