Rahm Caught Red Handed By State Officials

SAT JAN 14, 2012 AT 07:25 AM PST
Rahm Caught Red Handed By State Officials
byHyde Park JohnnyFollow

In a reversal of fortunes Rahm's bullying and union busting tactics have not only been uncovered, but challenged by state officials on the Chicago Facilities Task Force Force. What was established by evidence and eyewitness testimony in a hearing on January 12, 2012 is that Rahm Emanuel's push to turn over pubic schools to private operators is his use of textbook union busting schemes to get what he wants. The most disturbing revelations about mayor 1% was the use of paid outside agitators to speak in favor of closing public schools and Board officials forging documents to push out homeless students from one school.

State Representative Esther Golar said she was at the meeting about Reed School in Englewood, which is set to receive Guggenheim students, and saw people arrive on a bus. She said she talked to them and discovered they were from a halfway house and were paid $25 to come to the meeting.

Using developmentally disabled people as an insult is offensive.

Using that phrase is offensive not because it is name calling, but because in order to "work" as an insult, people who are "retarded" have to be viewed as something negative. In other words when you use it as an insult, you are inherently making a negative commentary about individuals who are developmentally disabled, and whatever you may think of Rahm Emanuel, people who are developmentally disabled deserve more respect (If Rahm Emanuel were here, I would tell him the same thing - but we don't need to adopt his insulting behavior.)

It is insulting to individuals who are developmentally disabled, and their families.

Rahm Emanuel's use a group of individuals as an insult (to a person or an idea), does not justify our perpetuating the injury.

Anyone who uses that phrase as an insult is inherently expressing disdain for individuals who are developmentally disabled; it doesn't matter to individuals who are developmentally disabled whether you started it, or merely repeated it.

is actually not even relevant. Even if it is ironic, using a group of people to insult Rahm Emanuel is offensive.

That particular term was banned on DU2 as derogatory to individuals with developmental disabilities, because it is - and I'm pretty sure individuals have already had posting privileges revoked on DU3 for using derivatives of it.

Rahm was talking about a tactic to attack and weaken democrats, supposedly in order to advance health care bills.

Do you think attacking democrats is good policy?

"Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul.

First of all, the article is written by advocates, then you have to consider that all of the sources cited are on one side.

- The assertion that the protesters admitted it is a characterization by Esther Golar. Why would they admit it to her? They have no incentive to do so.
- A characterization of the protester's understanding of the issue by "supporters who tried to talk with them".
- The writer takes liberty to characterize the protesters, saying that they "looked like crack heads and drunks mostly [sic]".
- The assertion that they were paid is made by an anonymous source and Marty Ritter from the Chicago Teachers Union
- Contrary to your assertion, no protester directly admits that they were paid.

Oh wait....

Friends of both men say that Obama likes Emanuel, and that Emanuel would be totally loyal. And Obama respects Emanuel’s knowledge of Washington, including the legislative process, and his reputation for getting things done.

Emanuel's first big assignment in Clinton's White House was helping pass the North American Free Trade Agreement, which riled many Democrats. He was a consistent voice for anti-crime measures, welfare reform and other initiatives that pushed against liberal orthodoxy.

I've concluded that to be considered 'brilliant' in DC you have to be without ethics, morality and be totally ruthless without any concern for people. Intelligence is not necessary or any of the other qualities normally associated with 'brilliance'. As a result we end up with the least qualified people to run this country, which is why we are where we are.
