years ago-- NO holiday lights put up by the city.

(13,390 posts)It's a smart thing to do. Instead of having to tell them they can't trick or treat for reasons A-Z, parents can tell kids the governor changed the holiday.

(10,960 posts)If being a small child trying to figure out religion taught me anything, it is that the masses on All Souls Day (November 1) are what puts all those ghosts back in the ground... it's like Ave Maria after Night on Bald Mountain in Fantasia.
So putting Halloween after All Souls Day is asking for trouble.

Rescheduling Halloween is a very good idea.
