any professional Ballet Dancers

on DU? Do you know any?

Son soon to start auditioning for companies as trainee/apprentice, etc.

Any info, help, insight, advice, guidance appreciated!

(I would have posted in Arts & Humanities - but there's no dance or ballet group. . . )

email if you can find an address. Sadly, I'm not sure he's all that busy these days, and he seems like the kind of guy who would like to help others.

ETA: Yeah, and not just "a" ballet dancer - he was with the Joffrey! Wow!

Reagan dropped out of Yale University in 1976 after one semester to become a ballet dancer.[1] He joined the Joffrey Ballet in pursuit of his lifelong dream.

My grandson is now. He went to the University of Oklahoma for his freshman year. They have unbelievably one of the best programs in the US. Went up to see him perform a couple of times. The programs were outstanding and very professional. Now he is with the School for the American Ballet Theater. Check out OU's program. Male dancers are in demand and usually get scholarships. Wish him good luck.

I had two general guides for tap dancers.

1. Get on your toes.
2. Bend your knees.

In tap dancing those are almost always the answer to any problem. (For the more advanced, it's "Spot!&quot

In ballet, #2 would not always apply, but #1 would. Also work on your turnout because it controls the line of the whole body.

And -- keep at it. Taking the audition will make you better for the next, and so on.

Good luck to him.

I know that it is all about discipline and hard work, and they get their bodies in incredible shape. They have a lot of dedication to their art.
