There was always this misperception that gay bars were full of small defenseless gay men. If you go to gay bars, you'll notice a ton of men who spend a lot of time working on their bodies in the gym. There's some big dudes at most gay bars. And in the 90s, when I would grab a beer with some gay friends at a bar of their choosing, there were usually some badass bouncers at the door who really could handle most anyone.

And, not that I endorse violence at all, but one of the baddest dudes I knew was a little gay guy named Raven who absolutely wrecked dudes twice his size in street fights. Was at a Denny's when that's where people went after the bar let out, and saw 2 guys jump Raven through the window, by the time we made it to the parking lot to help him, both of the "gay basher" wannabes were laying on the ground bleeding.

My point, these coward thug Proud Boys probably have no idea that they can still get their asses kicked by people in a LGTBQ friendly bar.
