... like Trump knowing the mob was armed, and all of the other damning things she recounted, what is the GOP focused on? Whether Chubsie-ubsie could manipulate his lard-ass to be able to reach into the front of the vehicle.
And how this pretzel logic would impact Cassidy's credibility is a total mystery, given that she was merely repeating what she'd been told by others.
That means that if the information is untrue, it's the credibility of those who relayed it that is in question, not the credibility of the person who repeated it.
It seems pretty obvious that Cassidy's testimony is unimpeachable, in light of the fact that this trivial BS is what Republicans are ranting about - while not even addressing any other aspect of what she had to say under oath.
Sometimes it's better to stay silent and be thought a fool - you know the rest. Apparently the GOP doesn't.

(7,850 posts)Cassidy Hutchinsons testimony along with the mob-like threats would be a Who shot JR cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers
I know her testimony is unimpeachable
no 25 year old would use the word clavicales when referring to Trumps attempt to choke Robert Engel

(182,826 posts)Get a story and go with it. Over and over and over. The goals are to further brainwash their followers and try to get it into the rest of the MSM discussion.
Oh and stall. Mass murder with guns - stall. Someone says something so embarrassing that they have to talk about it - stall with
but does he have a RIGHT to say it?

(2,256 posts)They all know just how damning the Committee findings have been and some of the "they" knew it before the Committee. And that crowd is running scared, very scared.

(27,815 posts)... a he said/she said scenario, with neither side able to prove or disprove what transpired. No gain/no loss either way.
The fact that the GOP is focused on this aspect of her testimony - rather than all of the other damning things she related - speaks for itself.
Perhaps their next move will be to bring in a forensic team to examine the dining room wall, and announce that it wasn't ketchup that hit the wall; it was tomato juice - a truly AH-HA! moment that would completely destroy Cassidy's credibility.
Of course, Meadows and Cipillone could always come out of hiding, be put under oath, and deny that the events and conversations Cassidy testified to never happened. But they're not - which means that credibility favours the speaker rather than the speechless.

(922 posts)The night of J5. This little nugget of info has largely been overlooked. Jamie Raskin will be asking questions about this during his presentation of the militia groups when the committee reconvens.

(2,036 posts)I can just imagine the lyrics to the tune "Take Me to the Capitol (I'm the Fucking President!)"
"Take Me to the Capitol (I'm the Fucking President!)"
I will march! I will march!
I will march with my adoring mob!
But wait! I have those bone spurs in my arch
And plus I am a big, fat slob!
Take me to the Capitol!
I'm the fucking president, so fuck it all!
Yes, I know the mob is armed,
But they're not going to do ME harm!
Well, I think I'll leave the writing to Lin-Manuel Miranda!

(32,645 posts)I have no doubts that Chump ordered the secret service guys to lie about this and deny they ever told Cassidy what really happened back on January 6th.
I'm sure they're mounting a new investigation into Hunter Biden's laptop - real soon.

(73,559 posts)Yesterday, I happened upon a post on an old co-worker's FB page. She was, like so many of us, amazed by Hutchinson's testimony. Some fellow who I don't know -- nor do I want to know -- insisted that: (a) everything she said has been exposed as a lie, and (b) that it was worthless anyhow, since Trump did not have a defense lawyer there to question her. These were the two most intellgent things he said, among a cluster of other nonsense.
For some reason, I decided to engage with him. It became clear that he did not know the difference between a congressional hearing and a criminal trial, or that the three branches of the federal government are distinct. As I pointed out his errors in thinking, he would try to take a dodge -- blaming the hearing on the media. I re-oriented him time and again. Eventually, he posted a final message, saying it was not fair that I had more education on the political system than him.
