Looks like Tony Ornato is a big fat liar.
Liz Cheney is like the cheese in a mousetrap.

if talk and reports and scuttlebutt arent trending your way, whaddya do?
What KINDS of things, plural, can you do, and what are possible angles? Dont forget, this guy is a fan of workarounds. He doesnt care if its not proper, legal, logical, obligated, recommended, conciliatory, or anticipated, hes willing to risk it.
And he wont take a straight OR single path toward the objective, either. Its the get. Whatever gets the win OR what he can CONVINCE you is a win, hes not above doing it. Unless one prominent credible voice speaks up, warning that a few hundred resignations were at the front door right this minute and it wouldnt be kept secret. That finally stopped one of Donalds moves.

Trumpsky denied it happened, but he's a known liar, so it's helpful to her broader credibility to have corroboration.

(42,770 posts)In the back of my mind I always wondered why/how FG told the crowd he was marching with them and then ended up in an SUV instead. Is there a clip at all of not him driving away but the point at which he was told he couldn't walk down? Like it he was marching East? And SeS grabbed him?

I think the SS men forced his tiny hand.
ETA... I doubt he's ever walked that far. Ever.
alphafemale
(18,497 posts)I do not think he is physically capable of walking that far.
Not even if you dangled a KFC bucket in front of him.
50 yards or so seems to be the greatest distance he will walk willingly.

(42,770 posts)None of us who have observed his pathology for years picture him ever actually joining in with a rowdy armed insurrectionist crowd? He's a red tie office (self admitted germaphobe) guy. (42,770 posts)He wouldn't go down there, with full SeS protection? That would mean the "lunge" could or could not be true. He might have had a deal, take me down there, protect me, let me give two thumbs up, then get me the hell out of there.
Why the clip of exactly how the SeS took him from the rally would be really interesting.

(42,770 posts)1. trump loves himself too much to put himself in physical jeopardy going down to Cap knowing the mob is armed, knowing there would be violence.
2. Engel a known loyalist to the core
3. trump asks engel to come up with a macho story to make it sound like he wanted to go and wasn't scared. Wonder how long that ride was
4. Engel complies and tells everyone. Is that common for SeS? To blab?

(200 posts)The story about trump in the beast never came up but Mr. Ornato's testimony on other subjects was considered to be "less than forthcoming" and much of his testimony was "met with skepticism"...he is known for lying a lot, about things that don't matter and about things that do matter... Cassidy Hutchinson and Agent Engel do not share Ornato's reputation, they are both considered to be honest straight shooters.
And, as everyone is pointing out, the story is that the president of the United States knowingly sent an armed mob to the Capitol to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power.

(1,690 posts)Will probably go to work for Liz Cheney when she runs for president in 2024. Course thats assuming enough of the republicans quit fucking around with narcissistic megalomaniacs and get back to having stable quality candidates. Not that any of us democrats would vote for a republican, but at least if our candidate lost, we wouldnt have a would be totalitarian tyrant running our country.
