2. Upside Down

Mine is flying upside down this weekend.

I will turn it right side up for Monday, but then right back to upside down.

For a hot minute after Trump was defeated, I felt something approaching pride and I put my flags up.

Then reality set in.

For a time after President Obama was elected I felt pride in America and had the belief that we were starting to become the great country that we're capable of being.

Then Moscow Mitch threw obstacles at everything that President Obama tried to accomplish, with the ultimate slap in the face being not allowing a vote on his Supreme Court nominee with that "election year, let the people decide" bullshit (with that "doctrine" to be ignored when a GQPer is in the White House).

Then 45* became the illegitimate occupant of the White House and all of this nations ugliness came out from under the rocks.

I've reached the conclusion that we've always been a racist country that favors the wealthy, right from our slave holding founding fathers to modern day fascists. I fear that we've peaked and are on the fast track downhill, especially now that the GQP owns the Supreme Court.

And I did encounter one of those spewing trucks on a back road a couple of weeks ago. The bumper sticker said "I identify as a Prius."
