5. I Can Answer That Question

When Ronald Reagan first started cutting funding for education, and then Republicans in every State around the country reliably kept doing the same year after year after year, it was by design. Educated voters don't vote Republican. That's why Republicans do everything in their power to make sure people don't get education.

Yet another blight on this country that can be directly traced back to Saint Ronnie.

19. What do you mean by "education"?

A High School diploma? Georgia has 87.9% with a HS diploma. Definitely not on the high end but not among the lowest either. Both CA (84.0) and NY (87.6) have a lower percent.

20. Reagan Cut Funding For Education At All Levels

Not just funding for public schools, but he essentially cut OUT Pell grants. My cousin, who is one of the smartest people I know, couldn't go to college in the '80s because of Reagan's Pell grant cuts. So it's college financial aid as well as funding for public schools (which I also know a little about, since my dad was a public school teacher in the '80s, and I grew up hearing all the horror stories).

And it wasn't just Reagan. The State legislatures and governors all followed Reagan's lead. Ohio has had a Republican governor almost every year since the '80s, with only a few short breaks mixed in. Every one of them has cut funding for education. It's the one thing you can pretty much count on.

And if you really want to get granular with it, not all educations are created equal. A high school diploma from one school is not necessarily the same as one from another school. The quality of education you get varies greatly from school to school based on a lot of factors (one big one being the amount of funding the school has).

without any challenge or pushback from our side, that there are now generations of people who believe no matter how bad the GOP candidate is, the democratic (socialist) candidate is worse.

Also the defunding of public education.

"As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing." ~Karl Rove

Sexism is a very real thing in the country still, look at 2016. Lot of people willing to vote for Warnock, but not Abrams.

Brian Kemp's politics suck, but he isn't nearly as stupid and controversial as Herschel Walker.

independents...I wouldn't bet the farm on this poll. It is nice to see that even in this poll which I find wanting Warnock is up. It is an AARP poll you know. I saw it yesterday and thought it was not a good poll.

the demise of Roe has on women and young women voters in the burbs? I can tell you I lived in Georgia in the burbs...Marietta and Woodstock-quite conservative, but even there women did not want to see Roe overturned except for the few Evangelical types. Contraception is used there and if the GOP makes a move to limit IUDs or the pill, it won't go over well.

It s too hard to call...and certainly, that poll is pretty worthless. Have you ever lived in Georgia? It is a pretty unique state and has been trending blue for while. When I lived there Newt Gringrich was my Congressman...what a jerk. That seat is now held by a Democrat. I don't think any poll is going to capture this midterm easily...there are too many unknowns.
