STOP OVER REACTING!

Far right manoeuvres on both sides of the pond over the last decades has brought us closer to authoritarian rule that at time since the post world war 2 liberal settlement. The highway to hell that is fascism is littered with the corpses of those who did not overact, or as I would put - act - in a timely manner. We need to act, right now. Maybe it will not end up the way they plan, if we are lucky, but it is safer to overreact and be mistaken, than to be passive and complacent – and be right as human and democratic rights are stripped away. And lets face us we have not been overreacting - their overreach and power plays is very very clear...

But don't ''overreact'' people. Sheesh.

My very own anecdote.

I have an LGBTQ child. Smart, hardworking, compassionate, gifted, caring, loving, competent are all decriptors that could be used for my child.

My very own brother, who claims to "love my child as his own", became a Donnie Dipshit sychophant.

I asked him; " how can you support a man and party that would destroy my child"? "How can you support a party that wants to deny my child a place in society and maybe even criminalize them"?

He said; "Oh, that will NEVER happen. If anyone comes after _________, I will defend them!

So, there's my own brother telling me; "don't worry, if the power of the State comes after my child, that's OK, because he will defend them

Haven't spoken to him since.
