Howard Dean was trashed nonstop by the media in late 2004 and early 2004 ending in the "scream (it wasn't)." After ending his candidacy for the presidency, Howard then went on to become the most effective DNC leader in my lifetime, and turned around Republican majorities in the Senate and the House into Democratic majorities in the 2006 midterms, paving the way for a situation so favorable for the Democratic Party that the 2008 Democratic Primary was one of the most hard-fought presidential primaries ever. Why? Because the the winner of THAT Democratic primary season was a sure thing for the presidency. The November election was a mere formality. Why? Because under Howard's tireless working for us, it was obvious by early 2008 that no Republican would ever win the presidency that fall. They even let McCain keep Sarah Palin as his VP for comic relief. Why? Because the Republicans has access to the same polls we did, and they knew that McCain had less chance of winning the presidency than Mitch McConnell had of winning the Miss America pageant.

…out here. Still have the bright blue T-shirts.

One of my friends here traveled to where he gave the so-called “Scream Speech,” and she gave me a first-hand account of what happened. #1 The crowd noise was such that you couldn’t hear yourself think. #2 The cameraman stuck a directional boom at him and captured his every decibel. #3 My friend said she could hardly hear Gov. Dean at all.

The whole thing made me sick. Just sick.
