To see if the expenditure of political capital is worth it. We know going in there’s zero chance of advancing and due to its language the court will not uphold it. Will this bill help more than it hurts in November is what is left to be seen. I was under the impression yesterday this was tabled but here we are.

how much political capital are we going to waste on a bill that has no chance in the Senate.

Speaker Pelosi should have, IMO, waited until after the mid terms.

What could Democrats be thinking?

Oh and thank you Rep. Schraeder. You can't be gone soon enough for me.

The magazine capacity restriction is the bigger issue; it would have a far greater impact in limiting damage in mass shootings than the actual gun ban, but it has the largest impact on more typical gun owners.

15 round limit on magazine capacity hits a lot more than assault weapons. You're getting into a lot of common pistols. The CZ-75 I have for home defense holds 17.

I can't stand "safe" voting. No one Democratic rep's re-election stands on one vote, even in a pro-gun district. They didn't do their job to educate their districts in the face of "they're comin' for our guuuns!" opposition.

God, Pelosi has to put up with so much bullshit lately.

There are areas and bills that we support that I can't get behind. I'm not 100% in agreement with our platform.

If I can't support absolutely everything we propose 100%, I can't expect our elected officials to do it.

his district: that some bills they only care about with their narrow self interest, will still do the greatest good for the greatest number -- they could help save lives, and they still get to keep and bear arms, a win-win. Reps don't vote just to go along to get along in the fear of losing their jobs.

You can also recognize that I did note that they probably took safe votes knowing the bill would pass, anyway, right?
