The judge is very clear on her skepticism about his genuine belief by framing his words as a mere "claim" to think something is true. He might be able to convince himself of the conspiracy theories, but surely he knows whether or not he is bankrupt (financially, not morally; the latter is not in doubt!)

The only question is how soon. Some judges might have had him placed in cuffs already for contempt of court.

broadcaster, sometimes he genuinely seemed confused, and at other times it was clear to me that he was a just falling back on the old "I don't remember" schtick. I think he's told so many lies for so long he really can't keep them all straight anymore. On his show, he doesn't have to. In court his inability to do so will cost him dearly.
