Politics is the art of the possible.

This week was filled with legislative victories for president Biden and the party in general.

It culminates with the reconciliation bill.

Yet some on our side of the aisle are already denigrating it..
Did we get all we wanted ? not quite but what we are getting is pretty damm good. Another shot in the arm for the midterms.

It reduces the price of prescription drugs, funds the IRS to go after tax cheats, massively funds climate change measures, insures corporations pay a minimum tax ( that was tweaked but still there).

Those things alone are a huge deal. For example so many people can't afford prescription drugs right now.

Yes Sinema knocked one of the tax measures, Manchin made sure that some of the nearly 400 billions for climate change goes to the fossil industry . That's the price of getting all these other things I mentioned.

People who are in need of insulin for example will get a huge relief. Coupled with the long lasting effect of the ACA, it's moving in the right direction.
