(51,550 posts)She should have flat out denied his motion. Instead, she gave his lawyers legal advice on how to refile it. That is VERY rare for a judge to do for lawyers. Lawyers are normally expected to know what to do and carry malpractice coverage for when they screw up. She is basically treating them like sympathetic pro pers.

(61,695 posts)said on Deadline Whitehouse today that TFG never understood that he had and continues to have a duty to protect classified material and sources. She insinuated that MaraLago must be swarming with foreign spies trying to get anyone there, even the maids, to share some juicy intel they saw laying around.
TFG is just so narcissistic and sociopathic that he doesn't understand the need to protect anyone other than himself.

He knows that he should not have had the material. He knows its value to anyone who wants it. This is not a case of carelessness due to not understanding the need to protect the information in the documents.
This is just a case of extreme chutzpah to demand copies. It's the bold defiance of a criminal caught in the act when he has no plausible defense.

(50,557 posts)1) ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?
2) Don't answer that.
3) We did the seizure to get that material away from you. If you think we're going to give it back, you're either drunk, high, dumb as a fucking rock or all three at once.
4) Don't ask this again.

The dummy had months to do that himself.

(6,526 posts)you can picture Trump standing over his attorney urging him/her to put in those commercials into the legal docs, even though they had to have been otherwise trained to record just the facts for the Judge. This emotionalism makes everything they wrote seem weak. Whine, whine, cry, sniff.

Otherwise . . . well, go ask his shrinking band of followers for more donations, I guess.

(2,496 posts)Graymail is the threatened revelation of state secrets in order to manipulate legal proceedings. It is distinct from blackmail, which may include threats of revelation against, and manipulation of, any private individual. Graymail is used as a defense tactic, forcing the government to drop a case to avoid revealing national secrets.
Graymail can occur in two ways:
To straightforwardly blackmail the government, forcing it to drop the case using the threat that if the trial proceeds the defendant will reveal classified information he or she already knows.
To request use of classified material, e.g. as evidence, in the trial. The defendant speculates that the government will be unwilling to make the material fully available to the case, and that this will raise the possibility, in the eyes of the judge or jury, that the unreleased material might clear the defendant, making it difficult to prove guilt.

Antisocial Personality Disorder
https://www.mentalhealth.gov/what-to-look-for/personality-disorders/antisocial-personality-disorder
Antisocial personality disorder is a mental health condition in which a person has a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating the rights of others. This behavior is often criminal.
Causes
The cause of antisocial personality disorder is unknown. Genetic factors and environmental factors, such as child abuse, are believed to contribute to the development of this condition. People with an antisocial or alcoholic parent are at increased risk. Far more men than women are affected. The condition is common among people who are in prison.
Fire-setting and cruelty to animals during childhood are linked to the development of antisocial personality.
Some doctors believe that psychopathic personality (psychopathy) is the same disorder. Others believe that psychopathic personality is a similar but more severe disorder.
Symptoms
A person with antisocial personality disorder may:
Be able to act witty and charming
Be good at flattery and manipulating other people's emotions
Break the law repeatedly
Disregard the safety of self and others
Have problems with substance abuse
Lie, steal, and fight often
Not show guilt or remorse
Often be angry or arrogant

(111,255 posts)He thinks anything in the White House was his to take with him except the furniture, which was all really old stuff that Melania didn't like, anyway. Tackarama, you'd think they'd have bought a new bed since Lincoln's day.
He's totally shit out of luck. Most he can hope for is the number of documents market secret, market top secret, or unmarked but still belonging to the National Archives.
For anything else, he can refer to all the subpoenas he didn't comply with.
