There is a register of every classified document Trump received and when it was returned. Therefore DOJ knew as early as January 21, 2021 what hadn't been returned, . . . if not then, certainly by May of that year.
QUESTIONS:
1. Why didnt DOJ come after Trump and demand the documents hours after he left the WH?
-Why didnt the FBI immediately know all the documents had not been returned in January and then in May of this year, despite Trumps lawyers contention?
-If they did, why did it taken more months to search Mar-a-Lago? (DOJs deference to Trump as a former president and/or fear of Trump encouraging civil violence?)
2. Why didnt didn't Christina Bobb, Trumps lawyer and custodian of his documents, and M. Evan Corcoran, who both told the F.B.I. last May that all of the documents had been returned, know about the register?
-Were they too stupid not to know or surmise that there was a chain of custody with rigorous documentation?
Or did they know, but orders from the boss overrode their concerns?
3. Is the fact that there have been no further searches indicate all documents have been secured?
Or are more to come?
Is Trump using some as a form of blackmail?
******************************
Of course, there were copies of everything given to Trump as well. Therefore DOJ knows not only exactly what Trump took but also exactly what was in them.
4. Does this mean damage assessment began in early 2022 or even in 2021?
5. Does that mean Trumps potential use of the material as blackmail (e.g., You know what I have and if you dont back off, Ill give Vlad and the Crown Prince a list of our moles ) is even more lethal, and therefore, more effective?
What do you think?

(13,571 posts)Why did it take so long?
Surely every one of the most critical documents is tracked diligently and carefully. Where it is, every moment, and who may have been in possession, every moment.
So why eighteen months?
Why not hair on fire immediately?

(182,879 posts)NARA had to pound the desk for DOJ to take this seriously. Trump being Trump didnt trust the Deep State so he took these and also he HAS to get over in some way shape or form in every instance.
Then he (they) lied - Who are THEY to make demands of ME? Covered it up. Aaaand then it got into a pissing match and Trump is all wet.

(25,983 posts)Were the documents properly signed out, and if not, who initiated a bypass in protocol and who aided and abetted that bypass in protocol for document handling?
