September 01, 2022
New York City Police Officer Thomas Webster sobbed in court as the judge told him that he would get the level 4 sentence enhancement which would add 6.25 years to his sentence over beating a Capitol Police officer on Jan. 6, 2021. The federal prosecutors were seeking a 17-year sentence
I just wish the events of Jan. 6 didnt happen," he cried. He went on to say that he told his children to disown him and he regrets going to the attack.
Perhaps our country would not be as divided as it is today if Jan 6 hadnt happened, Webster said. He then explained that the shame he has experienced would be worse than jail. Webster then closed by saying Im sorry.
The police officer he assaulted was present in the courtroom, reported those watching the court unfold. Webster didn't apologize to the officer, however.

Maybe he didn't sob enough like Kyle Rittenhouse?

(3,110 posts)These MAGAt a**holes getting convicted for their participation in the J6 attack should be recorded apologizing to the American people, and speaking directly to all the other MAGAt idiots out there. They should speak clearly to their grave error in judgment and how believing TFG's lies ruined their lives, among other things. These tape recorded statements could be broadcast as continuing public apologies and public service announcements to the public at large. They would also serve as a digital tar-and-feathering if you will.
Who could speak to MAGAts better than another MAGAt that got his ass burned and his life ruined by believing in a disgusting orange con man?

Wonder what year of his 10 year sentence he'll come to his senses.
Really hoping this is one of many double digit sentences handed down to the stupid traitors who were led to commit treason by a faithless, self-serving, amoral bullshit dauber.

(11,736 posts)Where the fuck have you been the last 50 years dude? January 6th was a RESULT of the division in the country, not a cause you idiot. It is a DELIBERATE division too, created by Conservatives, who understood that their policies are shit and only serve the wealthiest people in the country. A policy created after another Scumbag Republican/Conservative president was forced to resign for breaking the law and covering it up TO WIN AN ELECTION, he was already going to win.
Right wing media was already being envisioned, but when Nixon went down for his crime, Conservatives said, "Never Again" and pushed to infiltrate media with a concerted push to promote their propaganda. Reality has a liberal bias, so Conservatives created a way to keep their base in a bubble, to stoke fear and resentment, and to put their narratives out into the mainstream of society. They started this shit about "Real America" and "Silent Majority" and the like. In the 80's Reagan started with his "Government IS the problem" bullshit, then proceed to break the social contract part of government. In the 90's Gingrich started talking about Democrats being the "enemy" and treated elections as a zero sum. Bush/Cheney continued with their "You're with us or the terrorists" bullshit. That lead to Trump, who just took the mask off completely and showed what Conservatism becomes when allowed to go unchecked.
So no dude, January 6th did not divide the country. You idiots were already brainwashed and just needed a complete sociopath to lead you over the edge to try to stage the coup you were already fantasizing about.
