Longtime Republican disruptor Newt Gingrich, Senior Advisor to then-President Donald Trump Jared Kushner, and longtime campaign advisor Jason Miller conducted an email discussion about posting ads falsely disputing the results of the 2020 election, according to a letter sent to Gingrich by the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.
"The goal is to arouse the country's anger," Gingrich said in one email, the Committee states in its letter which asks him to testify voluntarily and preserve all related documents.
The Committee says it also has evidence Gingrich was "involved in the fake elector scheme."
Even in the hours after the violent but failed January 6 coup, the Committee says Gingrich "continued to push efforts to overturn te election results," and emailed Mark Meadows at 10:42 PM.
Attorney and Professor of Law Anthony Michael Kreis says it "sounds like the January 6th Committee may have the goods on Newt Gingrich orchestrating part of a broader conspiring to solicit election fraud and/or commit unlawful interference with election administration under Georgia law."

(86,612 posts)I have been waiting for that particular motherfucker to get his due for decades. He is a consummate evil that should be contained for the good of all.
If he is not convicted of anything, I hope he suffers a long, slow, painfully ugly demise.
Fucker started this pandemic of overt brutality and hatred. If anyone gets hung for treason, he should be.

(16,926 posts)His "Contract with America" was nothing more than a "Mafia Contract" - a 'hit' on Democracy - and publicly announcing that the RepubliQan 'party' didn't give a shit about a 'fair, honest, democratic' government - they just wanted the power and money and didn't care who they ran over.
I REALLY hope that somehow he goes down in flames - bigly!

(86,612 posts)During which time W became pResident, snewt was a topic of some discussion in a couple classes. I was seeking a polisci degree at the time and nearing graduation.
I recall a video we watched in one class, it was a documentary on snewty a story told by his mother. She was not a fan and claimed that he was who he is now from the very beginning. My brother is like that, he was a brutal threat to me from early childhood and grew up to be a woman-hating abuser, practicing his violence on me during his formative years and getting away with it because Catholic mom. Snewt has no siblings so he took to practicing his brutality on the general public.
What skyrocketed snewt to fame was that he came from a tiny district full of racists. There are a few in Congress now who have used his template to power and will be hard to dislodge but they must be ousted from government completely to heal our government.
Anyway, I hope he gets his due.
He played a major role in turning the GOP into the GQP, radicalizing and fostering "party over country" marching in lockstep like Nazis.

(86,612 posts)The illustrious "Q". He is so evil and he has been coaching the nat-c crowd from quite some time. He never disappeared, he just went underground. And he was rewarded with a cushy set up with his wife, what does she actually do again?, ambassador spot in Rome. On the taxpayer dime, of course.I hope he is convicted of just one of his crimes and dies in prison. He deserves nothing better.

Gingrich is looong overdue to pay for his past dark designs, like his 'Contract on America.' I hope they nail his ass.

(86,612 posts)He might be in trouble in Georgia too!
From whence he came. Georgia would do well to reel in this pariah they unleashed so long ago that has brought so much pain to this country.
He needs to be held accountable for his decades of assault on democracy.

He ushered in the recent era of Republican ultra scorched earth and to this day, continues his burn-it-all-down coaching and cheerleading for them. No one is more deserving of being taken down.

(70,504 posts)West Georgia's history department got rid of Newt as soon as they could, since he had a contract
the school had to keep him on so he was dumped on the geography department, and the minute
that the college (it is now a university) could they fired his ass.
Later on Newt was run out of Congress on a rail and it was the republicans who did it too.

Ironically part of what got Newt was similar to what Newt against Speaker Wright.
