(11,736 posts)The data, the evidence, and real world experience does not support their ideology. They love to trumpet "Facts don't care about your feelings" but the reality is that EMOTION is all they have to rile up their voters.
Conservatives do not vote based on rational decision making. How does shifting the tax burden from the people with the most wealth, to the people with the least, stimulate an economy? Why would wealthy business owners hire more people and pay people more, when they can push the existing workforce to do more, or automate? The answer to both is, "It doesn't and They wouldn't". Wealthy people only seem to care about making more money and gaining more power. If you aren't wealthy, then you really have little reason to vote for Conservative policies.
I know there are motivations like promoting Christianity, maintaining the privileged status of men, and White people, but again, those are EMOTIONAL things based on anger and fear.

(93 posts)They can sure dish out the shit but I've never seen such a crybaby, pearl-clutching, easily offended group as the Republicans.

(3,501 posts)But I think it unintentionally downplays what President Biden was trying to say. This wasn't just President Biden giving the MAGA a well-deserved FU; he is warning America and Americans of the existential threat MAGA poses
Justice matters.

(21,447 posts)that, for now, it might be best if they vote for a Dem against a MAGA candidate in order to defeat the MAGAS and get their party back. They can switch back to regular Republicans once the MAGAS are gone.
That's an appeal to Independents and to the remaining non MAGAS in the Republican party.

(3,850 posts)on January 6, 2021, when they attacked Congress by overrunning the U.S. Capitol. And they have continued to push this anti-American, anti-patriotic political tripe, based on a baseless lie and unproven conspiracy theories. So the arrests, guilty verdicts, confessions and prison time being served by those who were part of that mob are justified under the rule of law. Support for the law enforcement officers, justice department and judicial system which is prosecuting these cases is evidence of support for the rule of law.
The Democrats are standing with law enforcement against those who attacked them, with the rule of law against a lawless mob advocating for more lawlessness, and for truth and integrity against fraudulent attempts to steal the election with phony electors who actually allowed their names to be put on those seditious, fake ballots that were to be submitted to Congress. Everyone who took part in that seditious insurrection and everyone who supports it has made themselves the enemies of American freedom and democracy, and of the American people.

(9,984 posts)The three major television networks refused to carry a major address by the President of the United States, depriving millions of citizens the opportunity to hear the speech first hand. In contrast, most networks carried Trumps every utterance, no matter how trivial or stupid.

and make the film available to the Lincoln Project to stream on YouTube?
The action starts around 7:46 and Joe starts at about 8:30
I made a shortened URL but DU cuts off the 4 digits that make it start when one wants it to.

(6,857 posts)They may have been leaned on - or they may have decided that putting it on in an area that red was asking for trouble. Or it could have been something else. PBS may have made the video intending to air it eventually, or to air parts of it.

(2,809 posts)After countless namecalling insults in speech and social media from TFG.
For a party that complains about Dem's "cancel culture", they're doing a lot of cancelling, banning, bashing and trashing.
