Ideally, with or without a fairness doctrine, it would be next to impossible to decide if coverage tended to lean one direction or another. Noting that conservatives do tend to feel fewer topics are valid and important, and more might reflect negatively on their positions, than liberals do, so that inclusion could favor liberalism

Both the Deval Patrick and the internet-democracy segments would be examples of more unfavorable to the Republican agenda even if fairly and apolitically presented.

But again, that's not liberal slant, just reporting what's relevant. Nor would listening courteously to four conservative citizens present their beliefs be slanted -- in itself.

However, it was not difficult to detect bias in this host. Just watching for how hosts restate and summarize the statements made by guests, for spin or concise accuracy, usually reveals what they're up to. The guest says Republicans blocked needed action, the host summarizes congress blocked needed action, etc.

Btw, there is apparently a demographic that gets its political/national news from the Sunday morning shows. This is mostly "it" for them.
