THE Question

The seizure of classified documents from Mara-Lago has triggered thousands of questions about how they wound up there, who participated in their transport, where and how they were stored, who had access to them, what classifications they held, what measures were taken to keep them secure - the list goes on and on.

The powers-that-be in the GOP have busied themselves trying to answer those questions with a combination of obfuscation, what-about-ism, deflection, threats of "riots in the streets", and what we've come to expect as the inevitable talking points about witch-hunts, political persecution, dead-on-arrival conspiracy theories, and the Magic Wand of Declassification having been ceremoniously waved.

However, there is ONE question that requires an answer above all else: For what purpose were these documents stolen by Donald Trump?

It is THE question in all of this - and it is THE question that Trump and his ass-licking sycophants have yet to answer.

The who, what, where and when of highly-classified documents being found at Mara-Laqo are valid queries that deserve investigation. But they pale in comparison to the ultimate question: WHY?

Surely the GOP knows that their silence on that topic can only mean one thing: The answer is treason, and no other explanation has been proffered because no other viable response exists.

The Senate and House intelligence committees need to subpoena Trump to answer those questions.

Start bashing me now because I am supposedly blaming Democrats.

3. I do not understand why he has not been subpoenaed to answer questions on this matter?

By the Intelligence Committees or by the DOJ?

I guess they know that he would not answer their questions?

Or he would just make a big PR scene out of it?

In my opinion, that is a weak excuse.

That he was worried that the DEEP STATE (yes he actually seems to think that’s real) would use some of these documents to embarrass him. He doesn’t seem to understand that classified documents don’t usually become public.

He did take the sharpie Hurricane map with him. Was he embarrassed by that (as he should be) or was it meant for him to brag about (owning Libs/playing the press)?

I’m no lawyer but that seems pretty clear cut. What the documents were and what he did to them just adds on.

... that this obnoxiously self-obsessed, transactional sociopath took them because he figured they could be used somehow to his personal advantage. He may not have even had a definite plan -- just the notion that the information was valuable and a sense of entitlement to benefit from it.

This has been known in IC circles for at least a year. US assets were eliminated. The Special Master bullshit is a meaningless distraction. It's not what's in the documents at this point. The FBI already knows that. Nance is spot on. The repubs have no realistic answer. It sucks to be them.

THAT trial would reveal too much of his crimes and I can’t believe the intelligence community would want that revealed.

Still, I want him indicted on everything possible, and not the narrowed down 1 charge per crime but the hundreds of counts for each crime he deserves so all totaled a guilty verdict will be worth 100+ years in prison.

We all know he is the worst traitor in our history.

Hilary having classified documents which he tells his supporters is illegal. I’d love to see prosecutors play all those videos at his trial.

People excuse his behavior sometimes by saying “he doesn’t understand …”

Bullpucky! He always understands and his attack videos prove it. He just doesn’t care. He was destroying this country for profit and vengeance.

Fry the sucker!

The radicalized Republican party ignores treason because they're in it up to their necks in their push for a fascist theocracy.
