Also, since the SCOTUS ruling on Bruen negated a state's option to place restrictions of issuing carry licenses for any reason other than failing a background check the gun nuts are using that decision to push back illegal drug use as a reason to deny a carry license. A recent op-ed in The Truth About Guns (an online gun magazine) the author made the argument that the use of illegal drugs shouldn't be used to refuse the issue of a carry license. Why not? It works for guns in bars. I mean it's essential to have a gun where alcohol is served as that's where a lot of shootings happen, right?

Meanwhile the reasonable regulation of guns has become a mainstream political issue. In national polls it has moved into the top 5 voting issues. I wonder why that might be?
