Herschel told the story today of a man who got to the pearly gates early. St. Pete showed him heaven and hell and let him choose. He chose hell because St. Pete tricked him. Which apparently has something to do with campaigning and democrats, but Im not exactly sure what.

On the campaign trail today, Herschel talked about a bull in a field with 6 cows. 3 were pregnant. But the bull saw 3 other cows up on the hillside. And he wanted them too. So he tried to jump the fence but his belly got cut up. But the cows were bulls. So be happy what you got.

(34,069 posts)He's analogizing God tricking the guy into choosing hell by (falsely) showing it as a party place to Democrat's campaign promises. God is campaigning. Once the guy makes his choice, he gets to see the real hell. He is saying, by analogy, the same is true when Democrats are campaigning vs. after they have captured an individual's vote.
We don't do ourselves any favors by inaccurately portraying the threat posed by the other side. That's part of how we got Trump - remember -some Democrats even crossed the aisle in the primaries to vote for Trump on the assumption he would be easy to beat.

But I appreciate your coverage of this crucial race, Nevilledog.
I'm a New Englander, but have a grandfather I never knew from Georgia and I think I'm going to have to make some phone calls for Sen. Warnock.
