but depending on the jargon level, I don't always fully understand what I'm reading. I just happened to run across this, was impressed that it's in plain English, and figured I'd pass it along.

Half the press is so bloody ignorant and at the same time desperate for a clickable headline that they'll say many things and almost anything to get on screen.

They do not understand that there are meaningful and complete processes for handling classified material which include a chain of ownership, a record of readers and distribution for each document, and special rules for who may see them and why based on need to know, security clearance, and potential for compromising the information sources and procedures.

Some in the MSM also presume to take Trump's position that some of the docs were his and some could have been declassified when the DOD, DHS, and DOJ who have supervision over such documents have made clear that none of them were ever personal or declassified.

When the experts tell you it is so you must take their word. That's how evidence works in judicial proceedings. The judge made a fundamental error there and should be disqualified from further oversight of the case.

It boils down to telling the poser she's not getting the classified docs, trump's not getting the classified docs, trump's not getting to select a Special Master to get the classified docs, and the order is unsupported by even the law the poser cited.

A good read to go with this is the lawfareblog article linked from https://www.democraticunderground.com/100217136433
