One would think that an ethical judge would recuse themselves, in any matters like this, but therein lies the rub...

2. Turns out we've depended on public servants integrity & tradition for far too many things.

Turns out the emolument clause has no teeth in it, at least if you're a republican. And getting a security clearance after failing 100 times is OK when your president-FIL says so. Judicial appointments seem to be at the pleasure of the senate majority leader. And a president who lost the election is still allowed to make lifetime appointments to the bench. I'm sure there are many other instances of processes that need to be codified.

6. It's because we give too many privileges to wealth

You got money, stolen, inherited or earned, you can get away with practically anything in court or out of court, just act like you're filthy rich.

Americans worship wealth and allow it buy up anything even their conscious.

Wealth is not a marker of morality, intelligence or even cleanliness but we think it is. That's why Trump got away with Russian money laundering.

12. That's the purpose of the J6 committee, to review

events and recommend changes.

Their scope does not include everything mentioned in your post, but other committees can do the same.

When the J6 committee is done, they will make recommendations to the rest of Congress in their final report.

Sadly, though, I agree that the complete lack of integrity by Agent Orange and his cultists has made it necessary to review the loopholes that he exposed and or a them up.

But I get it, recusal over concerns about loyalty should be a bare minimum.

14. One problem with that is - not everybody agrees on who's a known criminal.

Look at all the trumpers and other friends in higher places who blithely look the other way at everything that bastard’s done.

15. I get that too; however, the big divide is that we aren't operating from a common idea of facts.

To people on this board (and a lot of others elsewhere), it was a known fact the guy is a lifelong criminal. That the media, conservative talk radio and FNC, in particular, have glorified everything about TFG and that we've been dumbed down over the last 30 years, exacerbates this "fact gap".

5. Maybe change the system of appointing judges, going through a legal committee

and it be based on their experience and past sound judgements and get the politics out of it. One branch should not be political.

Perhaps they'd be more constrained if they knew there was a high probability cases against them could be adjudicated by political adversaries.

And that's how we can get rid of misbehaving judges. Even the ones who were "appointed for life" - if they deserve to be disciplined or expelled from the bench.

17. I have a question. TFG appointed her, is she so dumb or commited to TFG that she didn't need.....

.... any additional incentives to rule in his favor?

Or does she have a numbered offshore account that just grew by 6 or 7 figures?

After all, the entire focus of TFG's life is to grift his way through the world.

Think Stormy Daniel's!

TFG's modus operandi is just to pay them off for their services! Daniel, Cannon, and how many others?

Then start a new grift. 2024 run for POTUS.
