Could we be witnessing the demise of Vladimir Putin?

Could his apparent blunder against a determined populace be the undoing of his brutal reign? The stories now emerging indicate significant displeasure in his decision making.

It is becoming more apparent day by day that Putin’s days as the undisputed leader may be numbered. If, in fact we actually witness this downfall, I would view this as the ultimate irony, and a gut punch to the ribs of TFG.

One can only hope.

I deal with a guy who thinks that along with Trump, Putin is anointed to expose the Nazi-led combination of child-trafficking rings and biolabs in Ukraine. I'd like something to throw in his face.

I'm petty like that.

I’d like him to be publicly tried in Den Haag, no bullshit propaganda on how he dies. If he gets his own Spandau prison, that’s cool. If he acts out Spandau Ballet at the end of a rope or in front of a firing squad, that up to the court.

at this point in time. And, frankly - that is the game I'd be playing too. Who is silly enough to be poking the wounded (but far, far from dead) bear? Only those with a penchant towards masochism. Odds are pretty good you're not going to see this man deposed in months - and more than likely in years. Russia will be weakened, yes. Putin's blundering overreach makes that unavoidable. But they're not going to disappear, like a genie in a bottle. And I'm highly doubtful that he will either.

The world sees it. His minions are seeing it and slowly, the people of Russia are seeing it. I believe that this blunder will cause him more harm than good. Maybe not today, but sooner than we think.

As it is they are trying to buy back old Soviet era weapons and ammunition from North Korea.

While fighting a disciplined army that's supplied with state-of-the-art NATO weaponry.

I don't think anyone is going to look at Putin's folly and wish to double-down on the stupidity.

Even if a new leader was foolish enough to desire a continuation of putin's folly. Russia just doesn't has the munitions or equipment to support a mass mobilization.

They can't replace what they have lost.

I've always admired DU, despite being partisan, open to opposing views to a point. But as of late, it resembles message boards I used to visit praising the invasion of Iraq.

So...I'll get flamed for this, no surprise.

If Ukraine went West, that would have been the demise of Putin. You may be wracking your head about that, which only explains the lack of understanding of what is going on here. The fact he did act, insures his right to rule.

Granted this isn't what everyone wants to hear on DU, but it doesn't make me wrong. And you are free to disagree, but, I sadly think I will be proven right.
