When tfg dies...

Another post regarding the funeral services for the queen prompts this post.

I will grant you that it’s premature, but I defy anyone to convince me that this hasn’t crossed their minds.

Will tfg be given the honor of lying (pun kind of intended) in state in the Capitol?

This has been discussed in other message forums, where the general consensus has been no.

Info online suggests that members of the house and senate could decide, but I think the final decision is with the architect of the capitol. Not sure if that’s the case, but it certainly seems like there’s no hard and fast rule. Up until now, it been mostly no-brainers.

Nixon’s family opted to stay in Yoruba Linda for a family funeral. Trump’s family will want all the bells and whistles (so they can monetize it).

A state funeral is a national tribute which is traditionally reserved for a head of state. The United States conducts state funerals on behalf of all persons who hold, or have held, the office of president as well as a president-elect and other persons designated by the president.

A state funeral is a 7 to 10 day event and consists of three stages. Stage I includes ceremonies within the state in which the president, former president, or president-elect was in residence. Stage II includes ceremonies within Washington, DC, and Stage III includes ceremonies in the state in which the authorized individual has chosen to be interred.

The ceremonies occurring in the national capital region may involve Armed Forces honor guards, elite military bands, and other service academies, National Guard and U.S. Armed Forces Reserve units. The ceremonies occurring outside the national capital region may include Washington-based honor guards and local service units to include active duty, National Guard and Reserve for logistical, military band or salute guns support.

Lying in state in the capitol is up to the family and the approval of Congress.

No law, written rule, or regulation specifies who may lie in state; use of the U.S. Capitol Rotunda is controlled by concurrent action of the House and Senate. Any person who has rendered distinguished service to the nation may lie in state if the family so wishes and Congress approves. In the case of unknown soldiers, the president or the appropriate branch of the armed forces initiates the action. Since 1865, most services in the Rotunda have used the catafalque constructed for the coffin of Abraham Lincoln.

their job is to sweep and bag the trash left behind by the mourners. Maga hats, Burger King Whopper wrappers, Charred remains of tiki torches, that sort of stuff.

Do not expect Trump's mourners to put their trash into the trash containers.
