Rotation of the guard in Westminster Hall where the Queen is Lying-in-State (rotated every 20 mins)

A rotation of the guard takes place in Westminster Hall where Queen Elizabeth II is Lying-in-State.

These take place every 20 minutes.

Guards have 20 minutes on duty, and 40 minutes off duty.

Poor fella. I'm sure he won't think of that one at night right before falling asleep. Gotta keep those knees unlocked.

When I was in the military a lifetime ago, I remember men and women flaking out like that.

They even told us not to lock our knees. Yikes.

When you're standing for any length of time, you don't want to lock your knees. You also want to flex the muscles in your feet, calves, thighs, etc.

Otherwise, your blood can pool lower in your body, temporarily depriving your brain. Before you to know it . . . kerthunk.
