We should heed Bill Clinton's advice for the midterms.

Last edited Sun Sep 18, 2022, 04:52 PM - Edit history (1)

OK, it wasn't advice pre-se in this clip but I'm sure he was hinting at it and we should pay attention to what
he says. I've always felt the Rs revolving door Willie Horton ad cost Michael Dukakis his election. And Bill
is correct, Rs always have some "big fear" thing they push right before elections.

We need a "big fear" factor to hit the independent voters with and unlike Rs we'll use truths.

I've always said we need to attack them as a group and was delighted when Biden called them semi-FASCISTS.
Let's help Biden finish attacking MAGAts to save our Democracy, our grandchildren need it.

Below are a few ideas every one of us can spread on social media and hopefully some PACs with video
capabilities might make some killer TV ads.

WE NEED TO SCARE THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF SWING VOTERS

"They're going to outlaw birth control!"

"They're coming for your Social Security checks"

"They'll kill the Jan 6th committee & PARDON all the insurrectionists in JAIL"

"The FASCISTS will overturn our Government if given the chance"

"They'll de-fund the FBI because they think Rs are above the LAW"

"Aren't you tired of Putler's puppets in the Oval Office?"

"You want MAGAts in charge talking about evil Black Mermaids?"

Anybody have a good one to add?

Here are the races that will decide the House majority. Please Help if you can any way you can.

“They’ve already outlawed abortions even to save the life of the mother. They’re going to outlaw control next. Supreme Court Justice Thomas and Republican governors are saying so right out loud.” (This is the most potent fear based argument we can make to women of all ages and to the ‘youth vote’ in general

“They’re going to take away Social Security and Medicare. It’s right there in Rick Scott’s Republican platform plan and Linsey Graham has said the same thing.” (That will scare the shit out of seniors and their families).

Betwee those two we’ve got a winning fear-based late season campaign push.

Sun Sep 18, 2022, 05:04 PM
Sep 2022

is good. But it has to be a truth that they care enough about, or understand enough, to make them vote Democratic.

Social Security, birth control, and abortion will scare and motivate people. Fascism overturning the government motivates only people who actually understand what the names of political groups mean. A fascist takeover is very important, but, unfortunately, does not motivate people to action except those already on the left and aware enough to vote the fascists out.

Sun Sep 18, 2022, 05:46 PM
Sep 2022

A right women had for 50 years to guarantee their freedom of privacy to control their own bodies was taken away by 5 radical Republican Justices.

If 5 Republican men who never have and never will be pregnant can take away such an important right from millions of wives, sisters, mothers, and daughters across this country,
what freedom is next on the block?

Birth control, interracial or LGBT marriages may be the next rights to be taken.

Republicans are a danger to the freedoms we have long enjoyed and could take us back to a dark place none of us want to revisit.

The difference is, the things I fear are real. Everything in this post is a real fear, not a made up one. They don't even have to be deduced from Republicans' prior actions (although they certainly could be with no stretching.) The Republicans are promising to do them.

Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that "small government" conservatives are for small government because they don't want the government to be able to tell them to act like decent human beings?

That said, what we need to do is not talk about the Republicans being fascist, but talk about the republicans wanting to be led by a totalitarian dictator. And then go on to explain what that means. Totalitarian dictator means, a ruthless evil psychopath. Examples are Putin, Saddam, Kim, Hitler, Stalin, etc.

Present it just like that. If you make it any more complicated than that the dunces will not understand it and blow right by it. But if you make it stark then you have a chance they will pay attention. And not just one voice like Joe’s, there must be as many voices as we can get to be saying the same message. Just like those fucking Republicans do every time they come up with some thing to scare the shit out of the independents, moderate republicans, and all democrats, to vote for their worthless candidates.

The difference is our approach is to tell the truth not those endless lies the other side always uses.

It's not the parties pulling to the extreme. The Democratic Party is not a left version of the Republican Party. One party is grounded in conventional politics and the other is teetering with fascism.

It does no one any good to pretend the Democrats are just as ideologically extreme as the Republicans - but from the left.
