Roland Martin: 'Fundamental Problem' With Democratic Party is 'White Strategists' Control the Money

...Martin, author of White Fear: How the Browning of America Is Making White Folks Lose Their Minds, pointed out that “Black men are the second most loyal voting bloc for the Democratic party,” after Black women. He argued the problem isn’t gender per se, but that the party doesn’t direct strategy toward that important constituency.

“So what you’re seeing are Black men who are saying you’re not paying attention to me, you’re ignoring what’s happening when it comes to economics you’re ignoring me when it comes to the critical issues,” he said. “And so what the Democratic Party has not done is create a specific strategy to target those individuals.”

Martin pointed out that Sen. Warnock only won by less than 100,00 votes last time, and said, “You should be trying to get every vote.”

“And I’m just going to go ahead and put it out here because someone has to say it,” he continued. “The fundamental problem with the Democratic Party is that White strategists are controlling the money, controlling the strategy.”...

I won't dismiss this out of hand, though I'd like more specifics.

It isn't OUR Strategy that keeps US from delivering, it's the complete blockage of legislation by the party of crazy.

In 2019 THE HOUSE PASSED nearly 400 bills. Only 70 of them were allowed to go through the full process.

IF WE'D HAD THE MAJORITY IN BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE AND A DEM PRESIDENT in 2019, here is what we could have actually gotten through. These passed the House but got blocked at SENATE or were Vetoed by tRump.

And it's hard to ask people to vote for US when we can't make it happen, but if they don't vote for US in such a blue wave that we can wash away the red stain on our Democracy, no matter how hard we work the creeps keep dismantling every Democratic attempt at making this country function again.

THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THE REPUBLICAN BLOCKAGE IS A TOTAL PURGE. DEMS ARE THE MALOX AND THUGS MUST GO!!

House Democrats have passed nearly 400 bills. Trump and Republicans are ignoring them.

Most of the issues that worry people happen at the state level. Very few people know how powerful governors are. They control what happens with health care, maternal mortality, criminal justice issues, economic access. That's why she's running for governor, to fix it. Her answer when asked about Democrats not doing enough for black voters.

I don't understand these "ignore" arguments. Democrats ignore black voters. Democrats ignore Latino voters. Democrats ignore the working/middle class. Democrats lost the 2016 election because they ignore the white working class in favor of "identity politics." Democrats ignore unions. Democrats ignore economic inequality. Democrats ignore rural areas. Democrats ignore progressives. Complaints about the DNC.

I like people like Stacy Abrams who know Republicans are causing the problems and try to fix those problems rather than only whining about it and blaming Democrats.
