Last week Mrs. Otter flew out to LA to visit our son. No problems.
She is heading home soon. Again, no problems.
So I searched out news for "flight delays and cancellations". For the first two results are about the new gov website updating the problems that were posted two days ago. Nothing much else but some dude who resigned for the screw-ups. The rest are more than a week old.
I'm thinking we Dems, from here on the ground all the way to the WH, need to crow more about our accomplishments!

(12,505 posts)The flight cancellation rate for the Labor Day holiday weekend was 0.6%, a substantial drop from the summer average of 2.2% from Memorial Day weekend in late May through September 1, according to data from flight tracking site FlightAware.
Put that down to a variety of factors, says FlightAware's Kathleen Bangs, including excellent weather -- for the most part -- across the US.
"But credit also goes to the airlines for increasing their staffing over the summer," said Bangs, a former airline pilot and spokesperson for FlightAware.

(16,089 posts)Media would just say, of course airlines are running smoothly. Kids are school and summer vacations are over. Itd be worse then not mentioning it.

(82,849 posts)It's been weeks since I've seen an interview with someone gassing up at the highest-priced, gougiest station in town and complaining about how much it costs to run their three-gallons-to-the-mile oversized pickup.

(1,927 posts)I just flew to Florida last week. Detroit Metro was dead. Tampa International was as well. September is the usual timr when air travel demand drops. Summer travel season is over and kids are back to school. Business travel still hasn't recovered and probably never will. The issue was high summer demand couldn't be met with low staff levels. Now that demand had dropped off its easier for the airlines to meet it. They could try to claim they fixed it but critics and MSM will likely just point out this was going to fix itself around this time anyway.

(7,702 posts)They would be crowing about on FOX etc. at this moment that they "solved" the problems whether it was true or not.
We should make them respond back. Like they do to us to get the idea in the news. And make them prove we are wrong.

(22,802 posts)10 minutes before we were going to head out to the airport. No explanation. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes she was told they booked her on a flight for tomorrow morning on a different airline and she'd get an email confirming it. Email never came, they just made it up. She had to call again to rebook a flight for tomorrow afternoon.
Sorry for crowing too soon!
