DPRK is in its third generation, and there have been generational authoritarian systems throughout history.

No democracy has yet to surpass the longevity of, say, the Old Kingdom era of Ancient Egypt.

They may die of old age but few actually fall. Look at Russia. Which of their dictators since Lenin have fallen? North Korea? None. China? None. Even in Germany and Italy they were not overthrown by their own people but lost power because of the invasion of their country by other countries.
