"The felony charges carry a total statutory maximum of 53 years in prison and potential financial penalties. The misdemeanor offenses carry a combined statutory maximum of one year of incarceration and potential financial penalties," the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Plenty of time to reflect on his behavior.

(15,080 posts)who have been charged with multiple felonies but not assaulting cops have been getting 3-5 years, and the ones who assaulted cops were getting about 7 years. The media likes quoting the statutory maximums, but with the federal sentencing guidelines they are generally irrelevant.
He should have tried pleading guilty in exchange for reducing the number of charges, like others have done. How the hell he thought he'd be acquitted if he went to trial is beyond me.
