TS Ian as it approaches the Northern Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico

The good news - this one is moving fast now 16mph. Cayman, North Western Cuba, the Florida Keys and Florida will get the worst of this. If you're in the Keys, looks like you'll face the Cat 3. If the experts are correct this will make landfall on the West Coast of Florida as a Cat 2

made reservations in Lakeland for tues/wed and hoping we have a house to come back to. Good thing is the people here are very calm and cool. You just don't see the nuttiness that you do back home in Milwaukee. They would all have their hair on fire by now. I am thankful for the attitude here. Good luck, MCAR.

I can stay with if the juice is out for too long. If you don't get hit too bad it's the lack of A/C that gets you. I got gas today at a local place that has inexpensive fuel (3.05.9) and the lines were kinda nuts. Publix and walmart were already starting to get picked clean of water and canned goods.. Stay safe..

I don’t wish storms on politicians because other people live in their neighborhoods.
Still I’m glad this is missing South Florida. If this drifts further west, it could be problems for Alabama and even Louisiana

We haven’t put everything back together from Michael. The only good thing is there’s 80% fewer trees to fall on anything.

...it is still projected to be a major hurricane when it is out in the Gulf and past all of the major land masses (including Cuba), but it decreases in strength (for some reason) just before it is projected to hit Florida. You don't usually see that happen all too often. Usually a hurricane being in open water like that is prime real estate for it to strengthen, unless the water is cooler or something like that.

The reservoirs will be full. Expect mudslides and bridge collapses.
On the other hand, it‘s delightfully cool.
